Flow - ‘in our doing we can be’

Each of us have a ‘sweet spot’ a place in which:

  • time both ‘stands still’ and ‘flies’

  • we are lost in the moment and exquisitely focused

  • simultaneously industrious and at rest

Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi calls this phenomena ‘flow’. On his death last year the Washington Post described ‘flow’ as:

‘the sense of creativity that emerges from an intense absorption in a challenging activity, whether in the arts, sports, business or a hobby’

Unpacking the heart of Reimagining You

To know you, to be you, is to live your truth

There are foundational themes that you will hear over and over again in Reimagining You:

  • You are precious,

  • You are unique,

  • You do not need to be defined by the lies you have believed about yourself.

The reason Reimagining You exists, is to spark awareness, bring understanding and provide tools for encouragement and support.

As the first day of the second half of the year (can you believe that), it is a perfect time to stop, reflect and take stock.

Work Life Balance: the importance of RR&C

Those of you who know me well will get a chuckle out of todays’s title. One of those chuckling chortling types of sounds that often comes with ‘a pot calling the kettle …’ and a smirk.

In my defence may I suggest that those who relate most keenly are posed perfectly to develop the best tips .

Wisdom: It’s OK - A letter to ‘mini me’
(Written with the first refrain of ‘Desiderata - go placidly amidst the noise and haste ‘ written by Max Ehrmann in the 1920s, playing in my mind)

Relax

It’s ok, you are ok

You are loved and worthy of love

You don’t need to strive

Stress Modulation

Have you heard the phrase - ‘everything in moderation’. In the purest of forms stress is an important component of life. It produces autonomic chemical responses that are intricately woven into the day to day operation of life. It helps us to know what decisions to take, which direction to go and what to prioritize. It proves the impetus to function and move through our day.

It is when we are living in overload or overwhelm that the incessant barrage of stressors becomes unhelpful and unhealthy. In this place each stressor, a situation to be addressed, a decision to be made becomes in itself highly charged and overwhelming, the potential ‘straw that breaks the camels back’. It is why we often procrastinate instead.
